'SNL': Kate McKinnon's Kellyanne Conway channels Roxie Hart

Kellyanne Conway has an explanation for why she does what she does, and Saturday Night Live is happy to offer its own interpretation of what that might be.

Kate McKinnon plays Conway in a sketch from this weekend's episode and provides a glimpse at what's going on inside the new counselor to the president's head as she fields — or deflects — questions from CNN's Jake Tapper (Beck Bennett).

She does love to wear showstopping, even jaw-dropping, ensembles. Note the inauguration outfit.

President Donald Trump's counselor, Kellyanne Conway, is red, white and blue on Inauguration Day.

So why wouldn't SNL find a Broadway number for her? All they had to do was change the lyrics for Roxie (the Name on Everyone's Lips) from Chicago to match a version called Conway.

One of the more memorable lines from the number? "And when they Google just a K, my name'll come up before Kanye: Kellyanne Conway."

OK, then.
