Lion's littlest breakout star Sunny Pawar isn't the only one who stole our hearts on the Oscars red carpet.

While many nominees opted to bring their significant others and BFFs (hey, Michelle Williams and Busy Phillips!), others agreed that mothers make the best dates.

Supporting-actor contender Dev Patel, nominated for Lion, arrived with his mom, Anita Patel, in tow.

Manchester by the Sea's Lucas Hedges, also vying for best supporting actor, got a hug and a smooch from his mom, actress Susan Titman, while snapping pictures on the carpet.

And Hamilton virtuoso Lin-Manuel Miranda, a first-time nominee for best original song for How Far I'll Go (from Disney's Moana), came to the ceremony with his mother, Dr. Luz Towns-Miranda, wearing matching blue ribbons for the American Civil Liberties Union.

Not pictured: Andrew Garfield brought his mom and dad to the Oscars, where he's nominated for best actor for war drama Hacksaw Ridge. Asked by Ryan Seacrest what his mom said to him before the show, Garfield said, "My mum is as cool as a cucumber about all this stuff.

"She's one of those perfect mothers that would love me if I was a murderer," he continued. "She would bring cookies, home-baked, and she would not look at me any differently. She might go, 'I'm a bit disappointed in you for killing all those people.' "

Well, you know what they say: There's nothing like a mother's love.
