A tour to a veterans memorial that includes 146 acres of woods with four miles of walking trails is being sponsored by Muskego American Legion Post 356.
The Highground Veterans Memorial Park tour to be Saturday, Oct. 8, is open to the public. The Highground is a park that pays tribute to the dead, and honors the survivors, their service and sacrifices. The large plaza honors veterans of World Wars I and II, the Korean and Vietnam wars with tributes such as Gold Star mound, the Dove, The Stone and Meditation Gardens.
Other features include a library, information center and gift shop. The Highground is in Neillsville, Wisconsin.
The tour coach will leave Muskego about 7 a.m., and will return late afternoon. Lunch will be at a local restaurant, snacks and beverages will be served on the bus.
