Former New Berlin West Middle/High School teacher Sara Domres was sentenced Wednesday to two years in prison after being convicted of two counts of sexual assault of a student.
She pleaded guilty in August of having had sex with a boy in her English class. He was 16 and 17 years old when the sexual contact occurred.
The New Berlin School District fired Domres in January after an internal investigation.
In addition to two years in prison, Domres, 29, Sullivan, was sentenced to three years of extended supervision on one count. She will have to register as a sex offender, receive sex offender treatment and will not be allowed to teach under any circumstances, nor can she have any contact with boys, as part of her extended supervision. Domres cannot have contact with any school except for school functions involving her own children.
On the second count, the judge imposed three years probation. However, if she violates probation, she could have to serve two years in prison on the second count plus two years of supervision.
