NEW BERLIN — A program titled "Stairway to Heroin," offering help and guidance to parents and to anyone who knows someone struggling with the use of alcohol or drugs, will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, at the New Berlin West Middle/High School Performing Arts Center, 18695 W. Cleveland Ave.

The New Berlin School District in conjunction with Your Choice Prevention Education will present the program that will be free to ages 12 and older.

The audience will hear from local law enforcement agencies about drug trends in New Berlin, and testimonials from parents who have battled addictions alongside their children. The audience also will receive information about help that is available to steer loved ones away from drugs.

Wisconsin Attorney General Brad Schimmel was originally listed as taking part, but he is not available. In his place will be Tom Petrie, Wisconsin legislative director from U.S. Senator Ron Johnson's staff.
