New Berlin West's girls basketball team had no trouble in its Woodland Conference opener, as the Vikings improved to 4-1 on the season with a 64-41 win over Whitnall on Dec. 2.

The Vikings led at halftime, 39-22, and continued to pull away in the second half.

Junior guard Alyssa Nelson led New Berlin West with 18 points. Senior forward Morgan Henrichs added 14 points, senior forward Lily Adkison had 10 points and senior guard Ewelina Schlomann chipped in with 6 points.

Sierra Grubor paced Whitnall (3-2) with 13 points, while Jaden Kelley scored 12 points.
