A slow start put Muskego's boys basketball team in a hole on the road at Kettle Moraine on Dec. 20, but the Warriors overcame a 12-point halftime deficit to force overtime where they prevailed with a 63-60 victory.

The win moved Muskego to 6-1 overall and 3-1 in the Classic 8, one-half game behind Arrowhead, which is unbeaten in league play at 3-0.

Kettle Moraine (0-4, 0-3 Classic 8) controlled the first half to take a 33-21 advantage into the break. But the Warriors fought back in the second half, scoring 35 points over the final 18 minutes of the game to send the game to overtime.

Muskego outscored the Lasers, 7-4, in the extra session to come away with the win.

Senior forward Luke Horozewski led the Warriors with 15 points. Senior guard Ryan Wikel finished with 14 points, sophomore guard A.J. Makinen scored 11 points and senior center Will Herald and sophomore forward Stu Vent each added 8 points.

Nicklaus Dahmen paced Kettle Moraine with 18 points. Kyle Abatto added 15 points, Michael Payant scored 8 points and Ben Psicihulis finished with 7 points.

Muskego was scheduled to face West Allis Hale in a tournament at Beloit Memorial High School on Tuesday, Dec. 27, and either Beloit Memorial or Milwaukee Juneau on Wednesday, Dec. 28. The Warriors will return to Classic 8 play with a home game against Waukesha South at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6.
