Muskego's wrestling team tied for 20th place at the Bi-State Classic, a two-day event consisting of a loaded field of 30 teams from Minnesota and Wisconsin on Dec. 29 and 30 at the LaCrosse Center.
The Warriors accumulated 128 team points to draw even with DC Everest for 20th, 5½ points behind 19th-place Spencer/Columbus Catholic and one-half point ahead of LaCrosse Central.
Stratford, the top-ranked team in Division 3, won the tournament with 367.5 points, followed by Ellsworth (No. 1 in Division 2), Sparta (No. 3 in Division 1) and Luxemburg-Casco (No. 2 in Division 2).
Parker Bevilacqua went 6-3 to come in sixth place at 113 pounds, including pins over Dylan Baird of Auburndale and Trever Vick of Caledonia/Houston. He fell, 7-1, to Isaac Wiegel of Belmont/Platteville in the consolation semifinals and lost, 4-0, to Garrett Moll of Lodi in the fifth-place match.
By winning six of eight matches, Jorin McGuire took ninth place at 285 pounds. McGuire collected pins in the championship and consolation rounds against Joshua Woggon of New Lisbon, Layne Anderson of West Salem/Bangor, Nick Zeidler of Lakeville South (MN), Tennessee Hatfield of River Valley and Shelby Jones of Dodgeville.
McGuire then won by fall over Richard Juberian of Bloomington Kennedy (MN) in the ninth-place match.
Evan Sinda went 5-3 at 145 pounds to come in 11th place with three of his five wins coming by decision.
Alex Wintheiser (2-2 at 106 pounds), Hunter Albrecht (2-2 at 120), Tom Wintheiser (2-2 at 126), Tyler Schanen (2-2 at 132), Tyler Huckstorf (3-2 at 138), Adam McNally (3-2 at 152), Tyler Larsen (1-2 at 160), Connor Schwartz (3-2 at 182), Gavin McNally (3-2 at 195) and Jake Hein (1-2 at 220) also wrestled for the Warriors.
