Unfortunately for the Muskego boys and girls track and field teams, the Classic 8 Conference Relays were held during the school's spring break, leaving the Warriors shorthanded.

The Muskego girls received a title in the shot put from Kenni Czarnecki and three second-place relay finishes to score 47 points and place sixth ahead of Waukesha North and Catholic Memorial on April 22 at Kettle Moraine High School. The boys team scored 39 points to come in seventh at Waukesha North High School.

Czarnecki used a throw of 109 feet, 3 inches to win the discus title and threw the shot put 33-07 for a fifth-place finish. Nicole Taloff was second in the shot put with a throw of 38-09 1/2 and fifth in the discus with a toss of 96 feet.

The relay team of Emma Warr, Bella Seitz, Savannah Balcerak and Savannah Rygiewicz took second place in the 4x100 in 50.66 seconds and in the 4x200 in 1 minute, 48.58 seconds. Jessica Michala, Sydney Bartz, Melissa Schnieder and Claire Maki teamed to come in second in the distance medley in 13:59.77.

Jake Petri ran to a second-place finish in the 1,600 with a time of 4:30.12 for the Muskego boys.

Rene Calvetti, RJ Bosshart, Travis Bednarek and Sam Scholz came in second in the 4x100 in 44.02 seconds and in the 4x200 in 1:32.08. Levi Leonard, Petri, Adam Kierzek and Kyle Neuroth took third in the distance medley in 11:16.08.

Girls take fifth at Lady Spartan

The Warriors girls team scored 66 points to finish come in fifth place at the Lady Spartan Invitational on April 19 at Brookfield East High School. Muskego held off sixth-place Pewaukee by 2 1/2 points, while Arrowhead won the meet with 127.333 points.

Taloff led the way for the Warriors by winning the shot put title with a top throw of 38 feet, 4 inches. She also came in fifth in the discus at 94-06.

Czarnecki was the runner-up in the shot put at 37-02 and also took second in the discus at 110-03 1/2. Balcerak was second in the 100-meter dash in 12.86 seconds and Seitz took second in the 200 in 27.52 seconds.

Warr placed sixth in the 200 in 28.24 seconds, Aurora Pital was seventh in the 300 hurdles in 55.82 seconds, Drew Colle took sixth in the shot put at 34-0 and seventh in the discus at 84-05 1/2 and Bartz came in 10th in the 1,600 in 6 minutes, 16.34 seconds.

Brenda Calvetti, Bartz, Warr and Seitz teamed to finish second in the 4x100 in 52.32 seconds.
