'NBA 2K' inadvertently sparks Lakers-Hawks rivalry

John Collins is the Atlanta Hawks' rookie power forward. He's a great athlete with outstanding all-around offensive skill who slipped to No. 19 in the 2017 NBA Draft. He's going to get a chance to start this year, which means he'll likely be dunking on some opponents.

Like … the Los Angeles Lakers' Brandon Ingram?

Collins shared a screenshot of his NBA2K18 overall rating, a reasonable 73. That it comes with a picture of him dunking on another player is rare for these preview images. It also didn't set well with the dunkee.

Or his teammates.

Collins quickly responded to Ball.

As did fellow Hawks forward Taurean Prince.

While another Hawks player, Malcolm Delaney, simply made a prediction.

Ball is a magnet for these kinds of feuds, having already stoked rivalries with Sacramento Kings rookie point guard De'Aaron Fox and pretty much the entire Philadelphia 76ers team - particularly Markelle Fultz, the Pac-12 point guard who was drafted one slot ahead of Ball.

So are the Hawks next? If Collins gets the much-smaller Ingram alone down low, we could see some fireworks.
