Muskego's Runyan, Fischer earn all-state honors in soccer

Goaltender Madelyn Runyan and defender Jenny Fischer of Muskego were both named to the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches' Association's all-state second team for the 2016 season.

Runyan played a key role in the Warriors' third straight trip to the WIAA Division 1 state tournament, and Fischer was solid in the back until an ACL injury sidelined her for the second part of the season.

Seaman, Mulvey help volleyball team take third in nationals

Steve Seaman of Muskego and Steven Mulvey of New Berlin both played on the Milwaukee Volleyball Club 18's boys team, which won a bronze medal in the USA Volleyball Junior National Championships in Dallas two weeks ago.

Players from Southeast Wisconsin made up most of the team, which earned third place of 74 squads in the 18-club division.

Rastas, Finke and Tobin to participate in WFCA All-Star Game

New Berlin Eisenhower's Jake Rastas and Muskego's Brett Finke and Ryan Tobin will play for the South team in the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association All-Star Game at 6 p.m. July 16 at UW-Oshkosh's Titan Stadium.

First-year New Berlin West coach Ben Chossek will serve as an assistant coach for the South team.
