Muskego's Kotarak 11th in NCAA track, field meet

Jerica Kotarak of Muskego earned 11th place in the triple jump with 38 feet-41/4 inches in the NCAA Track and Field Championships at Wartburg College in Iowa.

Kotarak, competing for the Milwaukee School of Engineering women's team, hit 37-8 on her first attempt and then came back with the 38-41/4, which topped her own school and league record by three-quarters inch. Her final attempt was 38-23/4, good for 11th in the 22-person field. She had been rated 19th in the nation heading into the national championships.

She also took 14th in the long jump at the national meet, capping a fine season in which she captured numerous championships and set school records in both indoor and outdoor competition.

Gosz volleyball camp comes to Muskego

The Jim Gosz High-Rise Volleyball Camp is slated for St. Paul's Lutheran School in Muskego from noon to 2:30 p.m. on Monday, July 11, through Thursday, July 14.

Jim Gosz will be the camp director and will be assisted by Germantown High School girls head coach Ted Gollakner, who also coaches the Milwaukee Sting 13 Gold team, and Kiara Gollakner, the assistant coach with Germantown and the Sting.

The camp will introduce drills and activities to develop proper techniques in passing, setting, serving and hitting.

The cost is $100 if the application is received prior to July 1 and $120 after that date.

Gosz basketball camps to be held at St. Paul's

The Jim Gosz boys and girls basketball camps will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran School in Muskego this summer.

The extreme camp is set for 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday, June 27, through Thursday, June 30. It is open to grades five through nine and is an elite camp designed for serious players. The focus is on individual skills and will not feature any games.

The Jim Gosz Basketball Camp will be held from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 11, through Thursday, July 14, and Monday, July 18, through Thursday, July 21.

It is open to grades three through eight and is for players looking to develop and refine their fundamental skills with games, contests and team play. It will use the same drills used at Milwaukee King at the varsity level.

The Jim Gosz Basketball Academy is set for 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday, July 18, through Thursday, July 21. It is open to grades four through nine and features speed and agility training. Those with previous playing experience on an organized team are encouraged to attend.
