Report: Jabrill Peppers had diluted urine sample at NFL scouting combine

Michigan safety Jabrill Peppers' chances at establishing himself as a first-round pick in this week's NFL draft might have just become a little more difficult.

Peppers tested positive for a diluted urine sample at the NFL scouting combine last month in Indianapolis, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Monday.

Peppers will now be automatically entered into the NFL's drug program, which will subject him to periodic and unannounced tests.

Creative Artists Agency, which represents Peppers, told ESPN that Peppers was ill upon arrival in Indianapolis and drank eight to 10 bottles of water to recover.

Already a potential fringe first-round prospect, Peppers is trying to convince teams he can carve out a role at safety after operating as a multi-positional threat at Michigan.

Alabama linebacker Reuben Foster also said last week that he had tested positive for a diluted sample at the combine. He said it was a result of attempting to rehydrate after an illness.
