The Pittsburgh Penguins are favorites to three-peat as Stanley Cup champs.

The Pittsburgh Penguins repeated as Stanley Cup champs, and Las Vegas oddsmakers have given them the early edge next season.

The Pens, the first in nearly two decades to win consecutive Stanley Cup titles with Sunday’s victory over the Nashville Predators, opened as 7-1 favorites at William Hill, operator of 108 sportsbooks in Nevada. The Westgate SuperBook in Las Vegas has the Pens at 8-1 favorites, while one offshore sportsbook (Bovada) has the Pens at 9-1.

Most sportsbooks had the Pens initially listed as favorites after winning the Cup last June. But as the 2016-17 season approached, the Chicago Blackhawks had pulled even with the Pens.

The Blackhawks, Washington Capitals, Anaheim Ducks, Edmonton Oilers and San Jose Sharks were each listed as 10-1 to win the 2017-2018 season, according to William Hill.

The Vegas Golden Knights, who begin play next season, have the longest odds to win the Cup with 150-1 odds at William Hill and 200-1 at Westgate.
